We loved the afternoon tea here and can't wait to come back! Food was delicious, service was excellent and the setting in Roundhay Park is beautiful. My favourite tea was the pistachio and truffle, it went perfectly with the dessert selection. Scones were freshly made and still warm! Overall a fantastic experience, definitely would recommend.

A perfect place for an 'alfresco' lunch in the grounds of Roundhay Park. Friendly service, tasty food, and lovely views. A winning combination.

An amazing afternoon tea experience. An array of choice of teas. Our host, Stefan, explained how all the teas were blended and where they were grown. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. He made our afternoon very specal. I would highly recommend a visit and will definitely be going again.

Such a relaxing experience. Lovely afternoon tea, perfectly brewed and three courses! Each item had it's own taste and just the right flavours and textures, beautifully served, the scone hamper was bottomless! Such a peaceful setting too, green green Roundhay Park. We'll be back!

Went here for my mums 60th birthday. Stefan our host was incredible and couldn’t have done a better job. He was so friendly and chatty and knowledgeable about the place. Unfortunately none of us were actually tea drinkers we just wanted to go for the experience which was brilliant but there was plenary of different teas to choose from. Mum was given complementary drink as it was her birthday. Food was absolutely delicious, crème brûlée was to die for. As we were the only people there on the day we were very lucky to be given a tour by stefan who showed us around the mansion! 100% recommend this place.

Had the afternoon tea as a celebratory treat for my birthday and mine and my friend's engagement. It was probably the best afternoon tea I've had! The food was really impressive (especially the sandwiches) with lots of attention to detail, and delicious. For a £2 surcharge you could try unlimited loose leaf teas from the speciality range. We did this and would recommend it thoroughly- all the teas were so fragrant. Everything was beautifully presented and the service was very attentive and personal. They also described the origins of each tea upon bringing the pot to the table, which was a lovely touch.

Definitely the prettiest place for a cuppa whilst walking through stunning Roundhay Park. We took a pit stop here whilst enjoying the park. The tea room itself was busy and it took a bit of time to find a vacant table near the window. The tea room would benefit from a lick of paint, it looks rather dated and shabby. I ordered a cuppa and a toasted tea cake. My partner ordered a spicy tuna hot sandwich and a latte. The tea was a good quality. Tea cake was just that a tea cake but tasty served with a good quality butter and jam. £3.95 is pricey though for a tea cake. My partners sandwich was around £9 and was very very light on filling. It was served with 8 chips, a supermarket coleslaw served on a tiny lettuce leaf. This tea room is definitely up there with the pricier ones. Although set in the very pretty mansion the food let the place down. Certainly not good value for money. You could do so much better.

Tea making is an art, and Stefan and Tanisha have most certainly mastered it. We had high expectations - I was there with two Japanese friends, who come from a culture famous for its tea ceremony - and our afternoon tea experience at the Mansion Tea Rooms not only met, but far exceeded, our expectations. We were made to feel special from the minute we arrived, and were warmly welcomed at the entrance. We were the only guests at the time we chose, but that did not at all detract from the ambience. Indeed, it meant that Stefan and Tanisha could be very attentive, yet without being invasive or overbearing. They got the balance exactly right. It also meant that, on our request, Stefan had time to show us round this stunning building. Stefan and Tanisha are both highly professional and very knowledgeable about the different teas on offer. We chose to pay the £2 extra each and definitely highly recommend that, as you get to try a different tea with each course if you wish, based on recommendations made by Stefan and Tanisha. We all loved the three different teas we tried each. The food was truly delicious too, with subtle combinations of flavours of the type one might even associate with a Michelin-starred restaurant, and it was all attractively presented. The room was beautifully laid out in this historical building in its gorgeous park location. It was an incredibly relaxed and relaxing experience. Tasty fine dining at its best. The Mansion Tea Room is much newer and therefore less well known than other popular North and West Yorkshire afternoon tea venues, but it is in no way inferior to them. My Japanese friends had been very keen to experience a typically English afternoon tea. To be honest, I had felt I was taking a bit of a ‘risk’ in choosing this little-known venue based solely on the reviews I’d read, but I’m so pleased I chose it. I honestly couldn’t imagine how the experience could have been any better than it was. Thank you so much Stefan, Tanisha (and the chef, who we didn’t actually meet but who was preparing the food in their basement kitchen). You are all true professionals and experts in your art. Thank you (arigato gozaimasu) for making our afternoon tea experience so special.
